Sigma Kappa

About

Established in 2006, the Kappa Mu Chapter of Sigma Kappa Sorority has worked hard to establish a strong reputation on Duquesne's campus. Each and everyday the sisters of Sigma Kappa strive to improve their sorority, greek life, and Duquesne University. Whether it is spending time together on the wing or preforming community service at the local nursing homes, the sisters of Sigma Kappa always have a smile on their faces. The sisters also enjoy participating in all greek events such as Carnival, Greek Week, and other organization's philanthrophy events.  All activities help make our bonds of sisterhood even stronger.

Sigma Kappa's annual philanthropy event is Sigma Sackers! Sigma Sackers is a flag football tournament that takes place in the Spring semester.  All proceeds help to benefit our philanthropies: Alzheimer's, the Sigma Kappa Foundation, Inherit the Earth, Gerontology, and the Maine Sea Coast Mission!

Sigma Kappa members are highly regarded within the greek community and among Duquesne University as well.  Being very involved in campus activities and events while still upholding a very high GPA is one of the principles that makes us Sigma Kappas. In 2017-2018, we were awarded Most Improved Chapter at Duquesne, and our President was awarded Sorority President of the Year. In 2018-2019, we were awarded the President's Cup, which named us sorority chapter of the year. We cherish friendship, leadership, service and personal growth and are proud to be Sigma Kappa sisters. We truly live with heart.
